Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary

Caledonia, MS

Founded in 1988 by Kay McElroy, Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary is home to 250+ rescued animals including domestic and exotic cats, dogs, parrots, horses, pigs, and more. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, they receive no government funding and are closed to the public. Donations go towards food, enrichment, veterinary care, utilities, and administrative expenses.

Thanks in large part to Ms. McElroy’s efforts, it is illegal to own big cats or other inherently dangerous animals in the state of Mississippi without possessing a permit.
